How Pre-K at Legacy Prepares Your Child for Kindergarten

In the 2023-24 academic year, our Kindergarten graduates showcased their advanced literacy and mathematics skills through exceptional performance in key kindergarten assessments. The Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS) reading assessment measures critical early reading skills, while the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assesses proficiency in mathematics. Kindergarten students who attended Legacy Pre-Kindergarten outperformed their peers by over 20 percentile points in DIBELS and by more than ten percentile points in MAP math assessments!

Curriculum

Pre-Kindergarten at Alamo Ranch prepares your child for kindergarten with a comprehensive and interactive program designed to meet the needs of all learners. The Frog Street Pre-K curriculum is structured around nine units and family activities that are essential for success in later grades. Students will be introduced to units focused on literacy, math, science, social studies, social-emotional connections, STEAM, technology, assessment, and family engagement.

Lunch & Snacks

Meal options differ depending on whether your child is enrolled in the state-funded or tuition-based Pre-K program.

State-Funded Pre-K Program
- Students are responsible for purchasing breakfast and lunch unless they qualify for free or reduced-price meals. Families may also choose to send a packed breakfast and lunch from home.
Tuition-Based Pre-K Program
- Meals are included in tuition. The full-day tuition covers breakfast (offered prior to 8:00 am in the Pre-K classrooms) and lunch.

Please note, Legacy Traditional Pre-Kindergarten is not an allergy-free or nut-free school. Please ensure all students pack a morning snack each day.
