Frequently Asked Questions
Cibolo 2022-2023 School Year
Safety, Security, & Student Health
Where can I find the campus safety policies/EOPs?
While specific details and tactics contained in the Emergency Operations Plan cannot be shared publicly, Legacy school permanent buildings have implemented a variety of measures to ensure the safety of the community.
These measures include:
Surveillance cameras installed at the entrance gate to enable offsite monitoring by district administrators and office staff.
Emergency communications systems to effectively notify the intended audience and appropriate response agencies.
A single point of entry and visitor management system, Raptor, implemented at all campuses. Visitors must first check-in with the Raptor system and receptionist before being allowed into the rest of the school building. Any parent, guest, contractor or volunteer must check-in with the front office and show photo identification and be granted approval before they enter into the rest of the building.
What Drills and Protocols are in place to support school safety?
It has been a long-standing practice, and a State requirement, that safety and security drills are an essential part of a school’s operational plan. Teachers, faculty and staff review protocols for each type of potential emergency prior to the school year, and students are trained in the practice of these drills. For additional insight, please also see the Parent Student Handbook.
Will there be cameras/fences/visitor management on the first day?
A secured 6-foot fence has been installed around the perimeter of our campus along with cameras located at the front entrance and rear gate. Visitors will need to check in at the front office and provide a valid state I.D. Legacy will be utilizing the Raptor System to scan I.D.s which are then validated against criminal databases. A security guard will be onsite and all gates will be locked during the school day. These measures will be in place beginning with the first day of school.
In addition to the above measures, we want to assure you that it has been a long-standing practice, and a State requirement, that safety and security drills are an essential part of a school’s operational plan. The pandemic has created some supply chain challenges for new construction projects across all industries. For that reason, and out of an abundance of caution, the completion of our school building will be delayed to January 2023.
How does the delay impact my child’s education – will they have school?
To make sure we open on time and begin our classroom education by August 9 as planned, we have a contingency plan in place. The plan will provide for classes to be held in portable classroom buildings located on-site, on several acres of land that is safely distanced from final construction activities.
How long does it typically take for Legacy to construct a campus?
We started construction on Cibolo using the same time frame that we always do for all of our new campuses. That construction work started in December, which normally gives us 7-8 months to complete everything well in time for the school opening.
Does Legacy already have a plan for the portable classrooms?
Portable classrooms will be set up onsite for all grade levels. Our plan is well underway with the city for that set-up. We’ve used this solution for a few other schools in years past, and it has provided a smooth transition to the school buildings once they are completed.

Every other week, families will receive an e-newsletter called The District Quill, which includes information such as food service updates, events, campus information and testing tips.
What if I need to contact my child’s teacher during school?
During the school day, teachers are focused on their students and classroom. If you need to reach your child’s teacher, please send them an email as opposed to calling the school.
Where can I purchase my child’s uniform?
Uniforms can be purchased through Legacy or at a retailer of your choice such as Target or Walmart. If you choose to purchase through Legacy, French Toast is the name of the vendor who provides the uniforms for students, including polos, shorts, pants, jackets and more.
