Momentum Fitness Program
Learning to Live Healthy. Building well-rounded students through movement.

Creating healthy foundations
Fitness isn’t just necessary to overall health—it’s also fun! We want our students to create foundations of athleticism, health, and confidence from an early age. We created the Momentum Fitness™ program to do just that.
Many schools have physical education class once a week for about a half-hour. At Legacy, we feel that isn’t enough. Students in the Momentum Fitness Program participate in 45 minutes of age-appropriate physical education class four days a week.

Fitness Curriculum
The Momentum Fitness™ Program provides students with high-quality physical education classes four days per week, during which they increase overall physical fitness and develop sport-specific skills. Students develop the five essential core fitness components: muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, cardiovascular strength, and body composition.
Additionally, students improve sportsmanship and learn sport-specific skills, rules, and the many health benefits of playing sports. (program offerings and/or availability may vary by campus and grade level).
Strength & Aerobic Conditioning
Students participate in activities designed to strengthen the entire body and develop the five essential core fitness components: muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, cardiovascular strength, and body composition.
Sportsmanship & Sport-Specific
Skills
Students learn a variety of team sports to help them learn to work together for a common goal. They learn the specifics of many sports, hopefully discovering which activities they want to pursue outside of school and long into the future
Healthy Living
In addition to physical activity, students learn about healthy eating, goal setting, and incorporating teamwork that can help create a positive and active lifestyle for years to come.
